Part of Our Work Made Possible Through Diving.
To strengthen the financial sustainability of our mission, OCEANIKA created its own diving centre on Mahé.
This centre contributes directly to the funding of our field operations and also plays a key role in training our crews and operational teams.
It serves as a platform for capacity-building, enabling us to prepare divers and field staff for the specific challenges of FAD retrieval and coral-reef protection.
The diving centre also allows OCEANIKA to offer educational programmes for children in Seychelles, in partnership with local schools.
As an island nation surrounded by the ocean, giving young Seychellois access to the sea and to ocean-related skills felt like an obvious responsibility.
By discovering the underwater world, these children become the future ambassadors of coral-reef protection.
We also run initiatives to make diving more accessible to local communities, ensuring that everyone — not only visitors — can experience, understand, and protect the marine environment that surrounds them.
